Local Graduate Starts New Cupcake Delivery Service

Dr. Desirae Leipply of The Cupcake Doctor

Local Graduate Starts New Cupcake Delivery Service
Douglas and Rosemarie Leipply have lived in Fountain since Douglas was stationed at Fort Carson 14 years ago.
Their daughter, Class of 2001 Mesa Ridge High School graduate Desirae Leipply (pictured at right), left Fountain in 2001 to attend Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She graduated magna cum laude in 2004 with a major in physics, and was accepted into the doctoral program at Johns Hopkins University in the field of biophysics.  After earning her doctorate and working in medical research at Hopkins in Baltimore for six years, she has come to the conclusion that good food and good company are even more therapeutic than medicine!   She has moved back home to Fountain to begin a new venture with her family--providing happiness in a cup to this community!
The Leipply family has always wanted to start a family business involving service to our military community, and now The Cupcake Doctor is excited to be back home and making house calls!
“If you want homemade, delicious gourmet cupcakes delivered right to your door or special occasion, look no further.  Our online-based delivery service is inexpensive, flexible, and reliable, and committed to providing the best customer service and the tastiest treats,” Leipply said. “ Our cupcakes, muffins, and cookies are made fresh with real ingredients, and without shortening, preservatives, or artificial food dyes (unless requested).  Our philosophy is to keep cupcakes fun and bake with an abundance of flavor, not just sugar.  We believe this military community deserves the best, and we want to help deliver the best.

“Trust the Cupcake Doctor with your order, and we guarantee you won’t need a second opinion!  It is our family’s dream to open a local storefront and provide great coffee and baked goods to Fountain’s hard-working families.  In time, The Cupcake Doctor hopes to be a person and a place folks can go to feel better,” she added.

Fountain Valley became a settlement in 1859 (founded by pioneers Tom Owens and Amos and Mary T Terrell.) They were soon joined by a third family, Mathias and Barbara Lock. Also founded in 1859 were Colorado City, Denver, Golden and Central City. The locals established a charter in 1871 and incorporated in 1903. Fountain is the oldest incorporated town in the Pikes Peak Region.
