Oh, My Aching Head

   You know you shouldn’t do it. But it’s hard to say no to the last toast, the last drink of the night, especially if you’ve already had a few more than was wise.
   New Year’s Eve is coming fast and furious and with it one of the few nationally recognized parties where a resulting hangover is almost a requirement. It’s one of the few times a year where imbibing in multiple Jello shots and Jäger Bombs are not only considered OK, but are actively encouraged.
   When you wake up in the morning with the first and best hangover of the New Year all you can think of is, why did I do this and then, how do I get over it? The Mayo Clinic makes it very clear, “Time is the only sure cure for a hangover.” Which means if you earned it, you get to deal with it, with a typical hangover lasting anywhere from two to 24 hours upon waking from a night of drinking at the New Year’s Eve office party.

Fountain Valley became a settlement in 1859 (founded by pioneers Tom Owens and Amos and Mary T Terrell.) They were soon joined by a third family, Mathias and Barbara Lock. Also founded in 1859 were Colorado City, Denver, Golden and Central City. The locals established a charter in 1871 and incorporated in 1903. Fountain is the oldest incorporated town in the Pikes Peak Region.
