FRANK EDWARD ROSS
July 28, 1943 - February 3, 2012


    Frank Edward Ross, 68, a devoted family man and long-standing resident of Fountain, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones February 3, 2012.
   He was born July 28, 1943 in Fort Wayne, IN to Frank and Vera Ross. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
    In the fifth grade, Frank met who would become his lifetime love and wife, Linda Emenhiser.  After serving his country in Vietnam, Frank moved with Linda to several states, finally settling in Colorado - where they remained from 1980 onward.
    He then had a fruitful career at Wal-Mart and the pleasure of sharing with Linda four children, 11 grandchildren, four (with a fifth on the way) great -grandchildren, and two beloved canine family members, Saucey Girl and Buddy Boy.
    Frank is missed dearly and survived by his wife, Linda Ross; his mother, Vera Dodd; his brother, Jim Ross; his children, Natalie (Steven) Jay, Barry (Misty) Ross; Craig (Belinda) Ross, and Terry (Dawn) Ross; his grandchildren, Gregory (Stephanie) Thomas, Racheal (Jason) Boynton, Ben (Hannah) Thomas, Phylicia (Lloyd) Cruz,  Michael Fields, April (Bryan) Lausman, Bradly Ross, Linsi Bowers, Austin Pohlman, Brandon Pohlman, Ian Ross, and his great-grandchildren, Jackson Thomas, Makenzie Thomas, Linnaea Boynton, Anyanka Lausman, and Konnor Parker.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Frank A. Ross; his brother, Perry Ross and his grandson, Kolby Ross.
    The family of Frank Ross wishes to notify those who loved Frank of memorial services in his honor taking place at Noon today (Wednesday, February 8) at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary located at 6360 S. US Highway 85-87 in Fountain.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Fountain.
    Frank’s family also would like to request the consideration of donation, in lieu of flowers, to Frank’s beloved charities, The Walt Fortman Center in Fountain, and Pikes Peak Hospice.

Fountain Valley became a settlement in 1859 (founded by pioneers Tom Owens and Amos and Mary T Terrell.) They were soon joined by a third family, Mathias and Barbara Lock. Also founded in 1859 were Colorado City, Denver, Golden and Central City. The locals established a charter in 1871 and incorporated in 1903. Fountain is the oldest incorporated town in the Pikes Peak Region.
