Senior Center Taking Orders For Medic-Alert ID Bracelets

DID YOU KNOW?
The Fountain Valley Senior Center is now offering MedicAlert ID bracelets for sale!  These awesome bracelets look like the standard medical alert bracelets; however, they are really a USB flash drive in disguise!
You can enter all of your medical/emergency contact/insurance information onto the drive.  If you have a medical emergency, the technicians who come to assist you can simply plug the bracelet into their on-board computer and will have the information they need to assist you, such as medications, physicians, conditions, etc.
The bracelets are for sale at FVSC for $15.50 each and we are having “programming” days, during which we will enter the information into the bracelet for you, along with taking your picture for the device!
Come on by the office today and get yours

Senior Center Banquet Held

Senior Center Banquet Held April 16

FVSC’s annual Volunteer Banquet was held on April 16 and was a rousing success, according to a spokesperson.
“Thanks to all the folks who made that event possible, decorating, serving, cooking, and cleaning up.  Thanks also to The Nostalgics for providing a wonderful evening of entertainment and to the Gold Canyon Gunfighters for providing all the attendees with costumes and pictures,” she said.

The senior center was decorated for an old-time Rock and Roll party including having the serving area decorated like a 50’s style soda counter.

The Easter Bonnet parade was held on April 22.  We had many participants with lovely bonnets!  After the parade, we held our “Bake Walk” with 34 donated baked items!  Thanks to all who donated goodies!
Reminder to all that the annual FVSC Yard Sale will be held Sat., July 23.  Be sure to save your treasures to donate to the center before then!

Fountain Valley became a settlement in 1859 (founded by pioneers Tom Owens and Amos and Mary T Terrell.) They were soon joined by a third family, Mathias and Barbara Lock. Also founded in 1859 were Colorado City, Denver, Golden and Central City. The locals established a charter in 1871 and incorporated in 1903. Fountain is the oldest incorporated town in the Pikes Peak Region.
