"Use Your Library Card" Contest

Poetry Contest underway

In conjunction with National Library Week, a “Use Your Library Card” contest is being held at Security Public Library during the month of April.

“Every time you use your card in April, you can fill out a drawing slip and be entered in to a drawing for a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card,” a spokesperson said. Contact the library at 391-3191 for more information.

Poetry Contest

Security Public Library’s Annual Poetry Contest is underway, in conjunction with April being National Poetry Month.

There will be first and second place winners in each of the following categories: 4th-5thgrade, 6th-8th grade, 9th-12th grade, and Adult. The first-place prize is a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card. The second-place prize is a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card. One original entry allowed per person; any subject, style, and length. Entrant must be a Colorado resident. Entries must be submitted by April 30.

Entrants should attach name, address, e-mail address, phone number and grade and/or age to poem and return to Security Public Library, 715 Aspen Drive, Colorado Springs 80911 or email to Entries will not be returned and may be bound for library collection and/or displayed in library cases.
