Tristan Riffe, in the tight tuck on a reverse dive, also met the state qualifying score for six dives with a 200.10.  His 3rd place finish at the invitational with a score of 342.70 also guaranteed his spot at state.

There was plenty of local high school sports action last week.

Fountain-Fort Carson Wins

Red Wave Invitational

The Fountain-Fort Carson boys swim team had a busy and successful week in the pool. 

The Trojans defeated the Palmer Terrors 95-90 on Tuesday, winning the meet with a victory in the final event, the 400 Free Relay.  They followed that victory with a win at the Red Wave Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Pueblo Centennial, bringing home the hardware with a score of 368.  The Trojans won all three relay events, and had at least one swimmer or diver in the finals in 8 out of 9 individual events.

The top 12 placers in each event at the Red Wave Invitational scored points for their team at the Red Wave Invitational. FFC swimmers placing in the top 12 included:

Widefield Boys Second, WHS Girls Fourth at Petrelli & Hunt Invitational

The Widefield boys won the Petrelli & Hunt Invitational Saturday at Garry Berry Stadium.

Widefield finished with 97 points. Mesa Ridge was sixth with 45 points. Coronado won with 126 points.

On the girls' side, Widefield finished with 77 points. Mesa Ridge was seventh with 44 points.

Pomona Invitational

The Fountain-Fort Carson boys track team won the Pomona Invitational Friday and Saturday.

The Trojans finished with 113 points. Cherry Creek was second with 56 points.

On the girls' side, FFC finished ninth with 39 points. Cherokee Trail won with 78 points.
