Children's Literacy Center Seeks Volunteers to Help Children be Successful in Reading

August 9, 2017

Looking to make a difference in a child’s life? Strong reading skills are critical for children to excel in school and in life, and the Children’s Literacy Center is dedicated to helping children across Colorado “build a life of success through a foundation of literacy…ONE child at a time.” Join Children’s Literacy Center in providing free individual tutoring to children reading below grade level in our community.

Volunteers work with one child, two hours a week using CLC’s Peak Reader® curriculum and work to target each child’s specific reading needs. If you are 14 years or older and are able to commit to a 12-week tutoring session, contact Children’s Literacy Center today to change a child’s life!  All volunteers are trained to use CLC’s Peak Reader® curriculum – no background in education is required.

CLC’s fall session runs from Sept. 5 to Dec. 7. Tutoring is held at the Fountain Valley YMCA on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. Sign up today and make a difference in a child’s life!

For more information on how to get involved or to sign your child up to be tutored, visit childrensliteracycenter.org or call (719) 471-8672.
