2’s & 3’s Outdoors: Batty Bats

Oct. 12, 9-10:15 a.m.

Share the joy of your 2 or 3 year-old child’s discovery as he or she enjoys a story and an exploration hike outdoors. $3 per person including adults & siblings. Reservations required 520-6745. Limit 24 participants.

Life Vision Journey: Medicine Shield Workshop Oct. 14, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Facilitator, Debbie Joyous, educator, yoga instructor, workshop facilitator, Licensed Professional Counselor, artist, will lead this healing journey of gentle Dru Yoga “energy block releases”, walking meditations, and depicting your life story, your future dreams & goals using creative pictures & symbols on your own Medicine Shield. Lunch included. For adults 18 and over; limit 15 people. Prepaid reservations required. $45 per member, $50 per nonmember. List of supplies will be forthcoming.

Bats for Beginners Oct. 21, 10-11 a.m.

Learn how bats use echo location and their critical role in the ecosystem. Join Nancy Prieve, EPC Natural Resources Specialist, to learn all things bat and make a bat craft for the kids. $3 per member, $4 per nonmember.

Pumpkin Carving Party Saturday,

Oct. 28, 9 a.m. - Noon

Carve a pumpkin to leave at the nature center to help line the nature trail for the evening Jack-o-Lantern event. Pre-scooped pumpkins, patterns and carving tools provided. Return at night to experience the lighted trail. Pumpkins may be retrieved after 7:30 p.m. $5/pumpkin. Sponsored by Millberger Farms, Pueblo.

Jack-o-Lantern Trail Saturday,

Oct. 28, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Enjoy the lighted Jack-o-Lanterns along the nature trail, make a craft, roast a marshmallow, and other fun along the trail. Wear a costume. If you carved a pumpkin for the trail, you may retrieve it after 7:30 p.m. Sponsored by Millberger Farms, Pueblo. $4/member, $5/nonmember.

Harvest Moon Storytelling Hike at Fox Run Regional Park

Friday, October 6, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Join us as we celebrate the beautiful Harvest Moon with a family-friendly evening

hike and stories about the natural world. Ages 3 and up. Limited space. Prepaid

registration required. $4 per member, $5 per nonmember. All ages welcome.

Creek Week Cleanup at Bear Creek Nature Center

Saturday, October 7, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

The Creek Week cleanup aims to bring Fountain Creek Watershed communities together

to foster the health of our local waterways for citizens and wildlife alike. Help us

clean up Bear Creek as part of this effort! FREE! Preregistration required. Register

Active Adults Series: ‘The Story of Us’ History Walking Tour

Saturday, October 7, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

The Story of Us shares stories that broaden our understanding of who we are as a

community. As we walk down Tejon Avenue, we’ll explore what is most unique about us

and how we differ from any other city in the country. Get a glimpse of intriguing

buildings and fascinating individuals from our community. Meet at Wild Goose Meeting

House (corner of Tejon and Boulder). Limited space. Prepaid registration required.

$5 per person, $4 per member. Adults only.

Webelos Scout Day

Saturday, October 14

Register for interactive sessions led by trained guides to earn badges for:

Arrow of Light Adventures;

Into the Woods - 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Into the Wild - 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Earth Rocks! - 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

$4 per badge per scout. Limited space. Prepaid registration required.

Nature Explorers: Venomous, Poisonous, Exciting-ous!

Thursday, October 19, 9 - 10:30 a.m.

Children, ages 4-5 with an adult, will enjoy hands-on activities, puppet shows or

stories, crafts, and a hike. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Preregistration and prepayment required.

Little Wonders: Sleepy Trees

Thursday, October 26, 9:00 - 10:15 a.m.

Discover the world of nature with your 2-3 year-old. Interactive activities and a

short hike make this the perfect introduction to the outdoors for your child. Child

must be accompanied by an adult. $3 per person including siblings and adults.

Preregistration and prepayment required.
