County programs available in the Fountain Valley

April 19, 2017

I hope all enjoyed a wonderful week and Easter Sunday.  The weather made for a nice weekend and I got to enjoy a church potluck after Easter services.  Later, I took advantage of the great day by taking a walk down at Widefield Community Park's Crews Gulch Trail.  Several families were having cookouts, and playing softball, while others were enjoying the Frisbee/disc golf course and courts there.  I'm always happy to see residents utilizing our county parks and assets.

Recently, I have been asked about what county programs or office locations are available in the Fountain area.  Some programs and administrative functions can be accessed in the Fountain Valley, rather than having to travel all the way up to the Citizens Services Center up north.  I am listing those for your knowledge and use below.  You can call these offices directly to see if your specific issue can be addressed there.  The county and I will be working with local leaders, and the Fountain City Council, in particular, on the feasibility of expanding county services further south, where possible.  Councilman Phil Thomas has already reached out to me on this and we will be meeting soon to discuss long term options and ideas.  Of note: the WorkForce Center representative is only available on Mondays, all others are Monday - Friday.

Great American Cleanup is this Saturday!

And finally, I did want to remind residents of the Great American Cleanup happening this weekend, which I had previously discussed.  The community cleanup event will be this Saturday (April 22) at 9 am at various locations around the county.  Let's do our part to keep our communities and county looking beautiful.  For additional information on locations or how to volunteer, please visit   The three District 4 meeting locations include Fountain Creek Regional Park, Fountain Creek Trail, and the Stratmoor Valley Trailhead.  Have a great week.
