Xaeda Jones before and after her hair cut, and ready to send her hair off to help other kids

Xaeda Jones, the daughter of Angi Mccloskey and Waymon Jones, recently had her hair cut and donated it to Children with Hair Loss. Xaeda, 5, just started kindergarten.

"She has seen me cut and donate my hair before and asked about it. We were letting her grow her hair out and I was more insistent that she keep it long," her mom Angi explained. "Waymon suggested she cut it and she liked that idea however I encouraged her to want to keep it long.  She is very independent and knowing we would have limited time to get ready in the morning and her dislike of me doing her hair simply because she wanted to do it herself made me reconsider the idea of her cutting it. I asked her if she wanted to cut it and she said no at first. Then as we talked I told her she could donate it like I had before. She asked if she could donate it to some kids. I looked into organizations for kids wigs and came across Children With Hair Loss. We cut it August 7 and have sent her hair off," she added.

A total of 14" was cut, and 12" was donated.

"She is very excited that her hair is going to help make 'hats for kids'," Angi concluded.
