* Rural Area Meal Program

or RAMP, is for individuals age 60 and over who live in El Paso County. This program is for older adults who are not able to get to the nearest congregate meal site. This includes individuals needing assistance due to physical, emotional, or social impairment. Please leave a message at 719-520-6471 with your name and phone number; we will return your call.

* Transportation - (By Appointment Only)

For seniors 60+ who live in the Fountain Valley area. Transportation provided to medical appointments, shopping, personal business, to the senior center, special outings and other destinations in El Paso County. Call 520-6472 at least 48 hours in advance to make arrangements.


* Fountain Theatre: Thursday, Dec. 14. Show is “Christmas of Chaos” with dinner prior at IHOP. Tickets $8, bus donation is $4. Bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 5 p.m. *Waiting list after Dec. 1.

* The Annual Travel Group potluck is scheduled for 5 p.m. Jan. 26 at the FVSC. Everyone brings a dish. There will be food, beverages, entertainment, guest speaker from Falcon Tours and a drawing. RSVP by calling 520-6471 or by stopping in the front office.

* The Good Time Day Travelers next meetings are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 12 and Jan. 9.

If interested in volunteering, call Diana or Kelly at 520-6470.

* The Meals on Wheels program always has a need for volunteers to serve as back-up help with this vital service.

* Our Board of Directors is seeking an attorney to be a member.

* Seeking volunteers to help in our front office on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Seeking volunteers for our Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe.

Other Activities

Song Spinner Tickets Are On Sale Now!

The Song Spinners Christmas Dinner Show will be at 5 p.m. Fri., Dec. 15. Come by the senior center and get your tickets today. Tickets are $10 each or $6 for ages 12 and under or 90 and over, and should be purchased in advance so that we know how much food to make. Invite your friends, kids and grandkids to this family-friendly event!

Christmas Raffle:

It’s that time of year again; we have begun selling tickets for the annual Christmas Money Raffle! Come on down to the senior center and buy yours! The tickets are $5 each and buy your chance to win. First prize is $250, second prize is $100, and third prize is $50. There are also four prizes of $25. Tickets are available in the office. The drawing will be Dec. 21 during the Christmas lunch.

Breakfast Social

The Breakfast Club is hosting a breakfast special at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8. Come down to the center for a biscuit and gravy along with juice and coffee for $3. Dee Fye and Gary Youtz are the chefs-in-charge and all proceeds benefit your senior center!

Karaoke Sing-a-long

Barbara Bragdon will be at the FVSC singing a variety of songs at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8. Come in and enjoy the music and at 12:30 p.m. Barb will continue with a Karaoke sing-a-long

Game Day at the FVSC!

Game Day will take place from 10 a.m.-5p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. Cost is $3 at the door. It is a potluck so bring your favorite dish to share. Come down and join your friends for cards and games.

Coffee with State Rep. Landgraf

Coffee with State Representative Lois Landgraf is scheduled for 10 a.m.-Noon Dec. 12 at the FVSC. Landgraf is the state representative for the Fountain Valley area. Stop by with any questions or suggestions to discuss with her.

Harmonizers Entertain on Dec. 14

The Harmonizers will be entertaining us at 11:15 p.m. Dec. 14. Come to the center and enjoy some holiday entertainment and stay for lunch and Bingo.

Holiday Closing

The senior center will be closed Friday, Dec. 22, and Monday, Dec 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday. It will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 26

Welcome in the New Year at the Senior Center’s Celebration

Join the senior center as we ring in the New Year! We will ring in 2018 beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, and celebrating the New Year at 7 p.m. Colorado time. Admission is free; snacks and drinks will be provided and entertainment will be provided by Dennis Crosser.

Coloring Contest Winners Announced

The senior center now has a coloring contest each month! There have been several participants in the month of November and the winners were: First Place-Bob Maxfield, Second Place-Linda Kepley and we had a tie for Third Place-Carol Eck and Fannie Hopper.

Congratulations to the winners!
