Investigation Continuing Into Shooting/ Home Invasion in Security

El Paso County Sheriff’s Office personnel are continuing their investigation into a shooting which occurred following a home invasion Sunday night at a home in the 4800 block of San Amels Way. The house is located in a subdivision south of Grinnell Blvd. and East of Bradley Rd. in Security.

According to Jacqueline Kirby, Media Relations Manager/PIO for the sheriff’s office, the suspects tried to make entry into the home. The homeowner would not let them in and was subsequently shot.

Kirby said the victim was in stable condition at a local hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.

Kirby said the two suspects have been described as black males and they are still at large. They are considered armed and dangerous.

According to Kirby, a large amount of processed marijuana and cash was found in the home. The Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division and Metro VNI have taken over the investigation.
