Bobby Phillips

June 25, 1933-February 4, 2018

Bobby Edward Phillips, who was born June 25, 1933, passed away peacefully  February 4, 2018 at the Union Printers Home in Colorado Springs.

Bobby, a long-time resident of Fountain, was born in Mobile, Alabama to Clara and Buddy Phillips, who in 1935 settled in Colorado.  Bobby was 84½ years old and is survived by his wife Margaret of Fountain. Bobby and Margaret were married 61½ years and settled in Fountain in 1960. 

Bobby is also survived by three sons, Bobby, George (Debbie-deceased), and Kevin (Sarah), two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bobby graduated from high school in Colorado Springs in 1951 and went on to serve in the Army.  After service, Bobby became a union electrician in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 113 where he also served on many boards and in many official positions.  He retired in 1995 and had been a member of the IBEW for 63 years. 

  During retirement he gave many years of service to Fountain as a member and officer of the City Council, the Fountain Sanitation District, and the Lower Fountain Metropolitan Sewage Disposal District.

His passions included hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, and seeing the country.

Bobby will be cremated and the ashes will be dispersed in a private ceremony. 

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Fountain, CO.
