Spring Cleaning at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church

As spring approaches, we all tend to get the urge to clean. We air things out, sweep corners, scrub floors, wash the windows, clean out the fridge, and pull the weeds.

“Spring-cleaning” is a ritual for renewing our homes. But our homes aren’t the only places in need of deep cleaning and decluttering. Over time, misplaced priorities, bad habits, old grudges, the shame of sin, misguided fears start to pile up, weighing down and cluttering our souls like spoiled leftovers and expired milk in the back of the fridge.

This spring, we invite you to do some spiritual spring-cleaning and join us at our Sunday worship as we continue our sermon series of the Apostle’s Creed. Throughout the month of April we will continue taking a closer look at this affirmation of faith as we all seek to de-clutter our souls of unhealthy, unholy commitments and attitudes that weigh us down and keep us from living free, joyful lives.

We also invite you to save the dates of April 20 and 21 for our church-wide garage sale. Come by and shop, have lunch, and you’ll be able to take home some baked goods, too.
