Resources for Debris Clean-Up and Assistance for Those Affected by the 117 Fire

As residents affected by the 117 Fire that burned more than 40,000 acres in the Hanover area begin to return home and assess their personal needs, local nonprofits, El Paso County and El Paso County Public Health have resources that could be helpful in this time of need.

The 117 Fire was 100 percent contained late Thursday, April 19. There were 23 homes destroyed.

El Paso County Public Health recommends those re-entering their homes and beginning debris cleanup follow some important steps to remain safe:

* Be sure you’ve had a tetanus shot within the last five (5) years
