* Rural Area Meal Program

or RAMP, is for individuals age 60 and over who live in El Paso County. This program is for older adults who are not able to get to the nearest congregate meal site. This includes individuals needing assistance due to physical, emotional, or social impairment. Please leave a message at 719-520-6471 with your name and phone number; we will return your call.

* Transportation - (By Appointment Only)

For seniors 60+ who live in the Fountain Valley area. Transportation provided to medical appointments, shopping, personal business, to the senior center, special outings and other destinations in El Paso County. Call 520-6472 at least 48 hours in advance to make arrangements.

GOOD TIME DAY TRAVELERS TRIPS:

* The Day Traveler’s next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 12. Next month’s meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 12.

* Wines of Colorado with lunch and wine tasting. Saturday, June 9. Bus donation is $12. Bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 11:45 a.m. *Registration ends May 31.

* Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks. Sunday, June 10. Tickets $11 each and bus donation is $16. Bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 10:30 a.m.

* Ft. Logan Cemetery with lunch after at decided location. Sunday, June 10. Bus donation is $16. Bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 8:30 a.m. *Registration ends June 6.

Pinochle Tournament May 29

Pinochle Tournament: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 29. Come down and join in for some friendly competition and prizes!

Advance Care Planning Focus of Presentation

Joe Farr from Pikes Peak Hospice is coming to the senior center at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, May 31. The presentation will be on Advance Care Planning. Sign up for this presentation by calling the senior center office at 520-6470

May Birthday Social is Tomorrow

Birthday Social entertainment provided by Dennis Crosser-11 a.m. Thursday, May 24.

HOLIDAY CLOSURE

Note: The Senior Center will be closed Monday, May 28, on observance of Memorial Day. The center will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 29.

Membership Orientation June 5

It’s time for our membership orientation session! If you are a new member or you are interested in becoming a member of the senior center, we will be having a membership orientation at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5. Come enjoy a cup of coffee, a donut, and receive information about the senior center.

June Game Day!

June Game Day will be from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, June 9. This event is a potluck event for only $3 a person for the whole day. If you are unable to bring a dish it’s only $5. Come down for a day of fun and games!

Karaoke Sing-A-Long June 14

Barbara Bragdon will be at the FVSC singing a variety of songs: 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14. Come in and enjoy the music and at 12:30 p.m. Barb will continue with a Karaoke sing-a-long! Bring your family and friend for an afternoon of fun.

Shop our Thrift Store

The Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and is located at 5725 Southmoor Dr. next to Fountain Valley Senior Center. There are brand new and gently used items, with a .50 cent bargain room and $3 clothes bag sales daily. Donations accepted from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. All proceeds help support the mission of the senior center.

Volunteers Needed at Senior Center:

1. The Meals on Wheels program always has a need for volunteers to serve as back-up help with this vital service. Please call 520-6470 and speak with Diana to get more information.

2. The Senior Center’s Board of Directors is seeking an attorney to be a member. Please contact Diana at 520-6470 for more information or to volunteer.

3. Seeking volunteers for our Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe.
