June Activities:

* Nature Adventures: Beautiful Butterfly or Majestic Moth?

Saturday, June 2, 9-10:30 a.m. and Thursday, June 7, 9-10:30 a.m.

Children, ages 3-6 with an adult, will enjoy hands-on activities, puppet shows or

stories, crafts, and a hike. $3 per person including adults & siblings. Prepaid

reservations required 719-520-6745, limit 20 participants.

* Get Outdoors Day at Memorial Park Saturday, June 2, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Join the El Paso County Nature Centers at this interactive event where the entire

family can fish, aim, bike, climb, cycle, eat, garden, jump, and paddle for free at Memorial Park! Info at http://www.ppora.org.

* Summer Night Sky Program with the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society

Friday, June 8, 8-9:30 p.m.

Enjoy an informative PowerPoint presentation indoors then go outside to enjoy gazing at constellations, galaxies, satellites and all manner of night sky objects with the Society’s telescopes. Prepaid reservations required. $3 per member, $4 per nonmember.

* Free Story Time with Puppets Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m.

Join a staff member from the Pikes Peak Library District for special animal stories with a special guest puppet too! Learn about summer reading programs. Then enjoy the trails on your own. Free!

* Nature Quest Nature Camp June 11-15, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

For children entering grades 1-5. Take an adventurous journey through nature with your team. As with any good adventure, there will be some challenges along the way! $130 per member child, $140 per nonmember child. Prepaid registration required.

* 2’s & 3’s Outdoors: Crawling, Hopping, Swimming, Flying!

Saturday, June 16, 9-10:15 a.m., Thursday, June 21, 9-10:15 a.m.

Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year-old through interactive activities, a story and a short hike. $3 per person including adults and siblings. Prepaid reservations required 719-520-6745, limit 20 participants.

Nature Jam Session with Pepper Grass Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m. - Noon

Dust off your acoustic instruments whether guitar, mandolin, harmonica, jug,

washboard, flute or vocal chords and join the jam session and sing-a-long with

Fountain Creek Nature Center’s all-volunteer folk band, Pepper Grass. All levels of experience welcome. $2 per person.
