Kirsten Coombes signs letter of intent to join college rifle team after signing to attend West Point

This past school year, Fountain-Fort Carson senior Kirsten Coombes made school history when she became the first member of the FFCHS JROTC rifle team to sign a letter of intent to join a college rifle team after signing to attend the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.

For Coombes, the daughter of Jason and Sonja Coombes, it was a dream come true. She has been interested in joining the military for several years, partly due to the fact that her father, Jason, has served in the military for 20 years.
