Good Shepherd United Methodist Church - 3,848 and Counting

Did you know that since 2004, Good Shepherd United Methodist Church has provided 3,848 relief kits to UMCOR? WOW! Our highest year was 2010 when we sent 466 kits. Here’s a breakdown of the kinds and numbers of kits we have sent in the past 14 years: two flood buckets, 194 birthing kits, 65 school kits, 61 school bags (sewn by Mary Humphreys) and 3,526 hygiene kits.

While our local unit of United Methodist Women and our mission trip team coordinate the collection of kits for the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) organization, our amazing church family plays a big part in this project. Yes, they do! The support through prayers, donations of supplies, and offerings are the “wind beneath our wings.” We couldn’t do it without all of the support from our family and friends.

We continue to collect supplies and support this generous organization and we are proud to be sending yet another mission team to the UMCOR West Depot in Utah this August. Thank you all for your support!
