Security Public Library Getting New Roof in July; Temporary Library Setup at French Elementary

The Security Public Library will be getting a new roof next month.

However, due to safety concerns, the library can’t be open to the public. A temporary location is being set up at French Elementary, 5225 Alturas Dr.

The library will be closed June 29 and 30 and will open July 2 at French. The temporary location will be closed July 4 for Independence Day.

“We will stock plenty of materials for you to checkout, and will continue to have hold pickup and laptops for your use, so be sure to come see us,” a spokesperson said. “We will be open normal days and times.”

During July, library materials can be returned to the library dropbox and the dropbox by the Safeway on Mesa Ride Parkway. During business hours, they can be returned to the French location.

Summer Reading Program prize pickup and activities will continue through July. For more information, visit the library’s website or call 391-3196.

“We truly appreciate your understanding during this process and hope to make this temporary change as seamless as possible,” the spokesperson concluded.
