Fish Deaths at Duckwood Pond Could Be from Pond Turnover- a Result of Hailstorm

After Heather Hester shared photos of what she believed were at least 100 dead fish at the Duckwood Active Use area pond on this paper's facebook page, we reached out to County Commissioner Longinos Gonzalez, since the pond is in a county park.

He explained that a preliminary assessment from Colorado Parks and Wildlife stated a biologist was able to visit the pond Monday to assess the fish kill at the site.
