Duckwood Community Gardens Offer Local Residents a Place to Grow Their Own Food

Pikes Peak Community Gardens Executive Director Barbra Gibb stands among the many plots available at one of the two Duckwood Ponds Community Gardens.

Fountain Valley homeowners and renters with little or no outside space for gardens now have a place to grow their own fruits and vegetables, Duckwood Community Gardens at Fountain Creek Regional Park.

There is currently one garden at the park, appropriately named Mallard after the fowl which enjoy the neighboring duck ponds. The second phase, entitled Pintail, after the duck of the same name, will be built when all the plots at the first garden get close to being used.
