City Council Approves Incentives for Planned Hotel

Citizens Group Opposed to Possible Charter Change Continues to Express Concerns to Fountain City Council

 


At its June 26 meeting, the Fountain City Council voted 5-2 to approve incentives for a planned hotel to be built near the South Academy Highlands site near the intersection of I-25 and Academy Blvd. Councilmembers Sharon Thompson and Jim Coke voted no.

The vote came after a presentation by Fountain’s Economic Development Director Kimberly Bailey, who presented the tax sharing agreement that will be between the city and Fountain Hospitality, LLC.
