Fountain Council Sets Date For Hearing On Proposed Electric Rate Increase

Hears From More Citizens Regarding Possible Ballot Issue That Would Change City Charter


At its July 10 meeting the Fountain City Council unanimously approved a draft customer notice that will be mailed to all customers regarding a proposed $2.28 per month (for most residential customers) electric rate increase. Mayor Pro Tem was not in attendance at the meeting. A public hearing on the proposed base rate increase was also set for Aug. 21. The rate increase, if approved by council, will go into effect Jan. 1, 2019.
