Back to School Prayer from Good Shepherd United Methodist

August 15, 2018

As Fountain Valley families start their back to school routines, the congregation from Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Security sends out a prayer to all for a safe, fun, productive new school year.

Learning is a gift from God. As we begin this new school year, we give thanks that God has given us the ability to learn many things in many ways. Loving God, sometimes a new school year seems exciting or scary or both. Help us remember to show our thanks for your gifts of learning by doing our best every day. We ask that you bless our schools, teachers, classmates and friends. We ask that you bless those who prepare our lunches, those who drive us to school, and those who keep our schools clean and safe. We ask God’s blessing on this new school year, that it may be a time when we appreciate and fully use God’s gift of learning. Amen.

Also, don’t forget, to hear more about how to prevent suicide and learn information about what is being done right here in El Paso County; you are invited to a free brunch and a special program on prevention. Join the Good Shepherd United Methodist Women at 10 a.m. this Saturday, Aug. 18, in Cooper Hall at the church located at 1201 Leta Drive in Security.
