Colors of Autumn

Fall officially arrived with the Autumnal Equinox on Saturday, Sept. 22

The fall colors were still vibrant in the high country this past weekend; although some of the Aspen trees have already lost their golden leaves.

The photo at left was taken Monday, Sept. 24, from the east side of Rabbit Ears Pass near Kremmling in northwestern Colorado.

Right now the days and nights are both approximately 12 hours duration. As of the Autumnal Equinox this past Saturday, the days will grow shorter and the nights will get longer until the shortest day of the year on the Winter Solstice, December 21.
