Just when you thought blackbirds were kind of dull and plain looking, along comes the Yellow-headed blackbird to change all of that. I first saw Yellow-headed blackbirds when they came to my habitat a couple of years ago.

At first, just a couple showed up and it was migration time, so I thought they were some kind of Oriole. They do fly in flocks so when 40 or 50 started showing up, I realized, I could’t be so lucky to get that many Orioles, so I had to start researching. They are a larger blackbird.
