Fountain-Fort Carson Schools Can Celebrate Some Successes from State Assessments

A former Aragon Elementary student works diligently at a computer. Colorado Measures of Academic Student Success are delivered to elementary students in grades 3 – 5 via computer testing in subjects such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science.

Each spring, students in Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8, and across the state, participate in assessments known as the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS). CMAS measures mastery of the Colorado Academic Standards in grades 3-11. The assessment results provide valuable information about how our students are performing compared to other students in the state. The assessments also serve as a significant part of the accountability system required of each public school in the state.
