The recent Boot Scootin' Boogie was a great success! Attendees enjoyed dancing, eating and socializing.

* Rural Area Meal Program

or RAMP, is for individuals age 60 and over who live in El Paso County. This program is for older adults who are not able to get to the nearest congregate meal site. This includes individuals needing assistance due to physical, emotional, or social impairment. Please leave a message at 719-520-6471 with your name and phone number; we will return your call.

* Transportation - (By Appointment Only)

For seniors 60+ who live in the Fountain Valley area. Transportation provided to medical appointments, shopping, personal business, to the senior center, special outings and other destinations in El Paso County. Call 520-6472 at least 48 hours in advance to make arrangements.

GOOD TIME DAY TRAVELERS TRIPS:

* The Day Traveler's next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.

* Falconaires FREE concert. Friday, Nov. 2, at UCCS. Dinner prior at Cracker Barrel. The concert is FREE and the bus is $8. Bus leaves St. Dominic's at 4 p.m. Registration ends Oct. 19.

* Fine Art Center: Saturday, Nov. 10, downtown Colorado Springs. FREE day at the Fine Arts Center. Lunch after at Red Robin. Bus is $10. Bus leaves St. Dominic's at 10 a.m. Registration ends Oct. 5.

* Parade of Lights: Saturday, Dec. 1, dining around where parked or you can bring a sack lunch. Bus is $8. Bus leaves St. Dominic's at 4 p.m. Registration ends Nov. 23.

* Fountain Theatre: Friday, Dec. 14, "On the 13th day of Christmas" with dinner prior at Black Bear Diner. Ticket is $8 and the bus is $6. Bus leaves St. Dominic's at 5 p.m. Registration ends Dec. 7.

More Bingo!

We have added another Bingo event to our calendar. We now have Bingo four times a month. Come down and join us! All events start at 1 p.m.

Mon., Oct. 15 and Thurs., Oct. 25.

Mark Your Calendars- Christmas Arts & Crafts Bazaar to be Nov. 17

Our Christmas Arts & Crafts Bazaar is open to the public: Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are currently seeking vendors who would like to participate. We have tables available for this event. If you have handmade items to sell and are interested in making some extra money for Christmas, please come by the FVSC office or call 520-6470 for more information.


Game Day Oct. 13

The next Game Day at the Fountain Valley Senior Center will be Saturday, October 13, from 11 a.m-5 p.m. This event is a potluck. Admission is $3 with a dish and $5 without. Stop by and join in on card games or board games.

Breakfast Club Meets Oct. 17

The Breakfast Club will have Biscuits and Gravy, orange juice and a cup of coffee for $3. Come by from 8-11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct., 17, and enjoy Dee's homemade biscuits and gravy.

Next Pinochle Tournament is Oct. 23

Pinochle Tournament: 12:30 p.m. Oct. 23. Come down and get involved in the tournament. For further details call the senior center at 520-6470.

Computer Class Change Announced

Our Computer class will be changing in October! Mike will be here from 10-11 a.m. Fridays, beginning Oct. 3, to help you with your computer, Smartphone or Ipad questions.

The Meals on Wheels program always has a need for volunteers to serve as back-up help with this vital service. Please call 520-6470 and speak with Diana.

The Board of Directors is seeking an attorney to be a member. Volunteers are needed for the Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe. Call Diana or Kelly at 520-6470.
