* Rural Area Meal Program

or RAMP, is for individuals age 60 and over who live in El Paso County. This program is for older adults who are not able to get to the nearest congregate meal site. This includes individuals needing assistance due to physical, emotional, or social impairment. Please leave a message at 719-520-6471 with your name and phone number; we will return your call.

* Transportation - (By Appointment Only)

For seniors 60+ who live in the Fountain Valley area. Transportation provided to medical appointments, shopping, personal business, to the senior center, special outings and other destinations in El Paso County. Call 520-6472 at least 48 hours in advance to make arrangements.

GOOD TIME DAY TRAVELERS TRIPS:

* The Day Traveler’s next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13.

* Fountain Theatre: Friday, Dec. 14, “On the 13th day of Christmas” with dinner prior at Black Bear Diner. Ticket is $8 and the bus is $6. Bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 5 p.m. Registration ends Dec. 7.

* Travel Group Potluck: 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18. Everyone is invited to this event. Please bring a dish to share. Come see what the travel group is all about or come and share your experiences about the travel group with others. Please call or stop by the office to sign up.

More Bingo!

We have added another Bingo event to our calendar. We now have Bingo four times a month. Come down and join us! All events start at 1 p.m.

Mark Your Calendars- Christmas Arts & Crafts Bazaar to be Nov. 17

Our Christmas Arts & Crafts Bazaar is open to the public: Saturday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are currently seeking vendors who would like to participate. We have tables available for this event. If you have handmade items to sell and are interested in making some extra money for Christmas, please come by the FVSC office or call 520-6470 for more information.

Computer Class Change Announced

Our Computer class has changed. Mike will be here from 10-11 a.m. Fridays, to help you with your computer, Smartphone or Ipad questions.

Veterans Day Ceremony Nov. 9

Our Veteran’s Day presentation and flag ceremony will be at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9. The FVSC will be closed on Monday, Nov. 12, in observance of Veteran’s Day. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov.13.

Breakfast Club to meet Nov. 14

The Breakfast Club will have Biscuits and Gravy, orange juice, and a cup of coffee for $3. Come by from 8-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, and enjoy Dee’s homemade biscuits and gravy.

Thanksgiving Closing

The Fountain Valley Senior Center will be closed Thursday & Friday, Nov. 22-23, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thrift Shoppe Proceeds Benefit Senior Center

Our Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and is located at 5725 Southmoor Dr. next to Fountain Valley Senior Center.

Come and see our updated Thrift Shoppe. We have brand new & gently used items and more coming in all the time. We have a .50 cent bargain room and sell $3 clothes bags daily. We accept donations from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. All proceeds help support the mission of the FVSC.
