New Bridge for Old

This is the sort of a new little concrete bridge, few notice. It replaces a big wooden railroad bridge that was a constant problem to the owners. It burned in fires at least twice. It is on what was a tourist attraction, now a heavily used street. In 1948, when this bridge was built, maybe a hundred people used it a week. I bet that many use it now in an hour! When it was built it opened up the north end of a popular road, which had been closed for several years.

So, I am sure some of you may have caught on, but most of you, probably not. This new bridge is at the mouth of Bear Creek Canyon...
