* Rural Area Meal Program

or RAMP, is for individuals age 60 and over who live in El Paso County. This program is for older adults who are not able to get to the nearest congregate meal site. This includes individuals needing assistance due to physical, emotional, or social impairment. Please leave a message at 719-520-6471 with your name and phone number; we will return your call.

* Transportation - (By Appointment Only)

For seniors 60+ who live in the Fountain Valley area. Transportation provided to medical appointments, shopping, personal business, to the senior center, special outings and other destinations in El Paso County. Call 520-6472 at least 48 hours in advance to make arrangements.

GOOD TIME DAY TRAVELERS TRIPS:

* Travel Group Potluck: 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18. The Day Traveler’s potluck will serve as January’s meeting! Everyone is invited to this event. Please bring a dish to share. Come see what the travel group is all about or come and share your experiences about the travel group with others. Please call or stop by the office to sign up.

* Garden of the Gods Market and Café for brunch: Saturday, Feb. 9. Bus is $10 and leaves St. Dominic’s at 10 a.m. Registration deadline is Feb. 1.

* Cosmo’s Magic Theatre with dinner at Old Chicago prior: Saturday, Feb. 16. Tickets are $30 and bus is $8. Bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 5 p.m. Registration deadline is Feb. 1.

* Fountain Theatre “Fond Farewell” with dinner prior at Black Bear Diner: Saturday, Feb. 23. Tickets are $8 and the bus is $6. Bus will leave St. Dominic’s at 4:30 p.m. Registration deadline is Feb. 8.

Other Activities

Breakfast Club Will Feast on Biscuits and Gravy Dec. 19

The Breakfast Club will have Biscuits and Gravy, orange juice and a cup of coffee for $3. Come by from 8-11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, and enjoy Dee’s homemade biscuits and gravy.

Christmas Raffle Drawing is Thursday

It’s that time of year again; we have begun selling tickets for the annual Christmas Money Raffle! Come on down to the senior center and buy yours! The tickets are $5 each and buy your chance to win. 1st prize is $250, 2nd prize is $100, and 3rd prize is $50 and there are four prizes of $25. Tickets are available in the office. The drawing will be Dec. 20, during the Christmas lunch.

Concert on Dec. 21

Frances Pucci will be performing her Christmas concert from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the senior center. Come down and enjoy this beautiful Christmas concert and join in on some Christmas favorite sing-a-longs while enjoying cookies and apple cider. (See ad on this page.)

Holiday Closings:

The Fountain Valley Senior Center will be closed Monday & Tuesday, Dec. 24 & 25, for the Christmas holiday.

Join Us for New Years

Join the FVSC as we ring in the New Year! We will ring in 2019 Monday, Dec. 31, beginning at 4 p.m. and will celebrate the New Year at 7 p.m. Colorado time. Admission is free; snacks and drinks will be provided and entertainment will be provided by Dennis Crosser.

Returns

Yoga class will be on break the month of December. Come back at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, for our next yoga class.

Meet New Exec. Director Jolene on Jan. 8

Java with Jolene Hausman, Executive Director begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the senior center. Come down and visit with Jolene.

Zumba Gold for seniors is coming to the FVSC in the New Year! Wilma Lumpkin will be instructing Zumba Gold for seniors at 9 a.m. the second and fourth Monday of each month. The first introductory class will be Monday, Jan. 14. Come down and check it out!
