Up At The New Crossing

I have been watching the new crossing of the railroad tracks up on 85, and I think today I will share this with you. This spot has been featured in several of my old columns.

This spot is where the Santa Fe railroad crossed over the Denver and Rio Grande when they built north from Pueblo in 1886. There was a long embankment built to get their track high enough to get over the other line. Some of that can still be seen, even though a big part of it was cut away for this crossing.
