Community Invited to "Pray for Our Nation" gathering Feb. 22

February 13, 2019

Are you concerned about the preservation of the electoral college? Sanctity of life? Securing our borders? Restoration of social security? Do you believe our leaders on a national, state, county, and local level need our prayer support? First responders too?

Come pray for our nation Friday, February 22 beginning at 6 p.m. in the meeting room at the International House of Pancakes, 6450 South Hwy. 85/87 in Fountain. Arrive early if you want to dine at IHOP before the prayer meeting. (Please dine in the main dining area.)

“In cooperation with the Faith and Freedom Coalition, we will be using materials from organizations such as Students for Life, Life Connections, Intercessors for America, the Susan B. Anthony League, and more,” event organizer Ken Lippincott said.

This effort follows a 2013 effort when eleven “Prayer for Our Nation” community prayer meetings were conducted at local churches in the Fountain Valley, Hanover, and Ellicott based on 2nd Chronicles 7:14 “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (NIV 1984, Zondervan).

According to Lippincott, “Our purpose is to address local, county, state, and national issues through prayer first in a market place location before seeking to do the same in area churches and other sites. Often I have heard it said that our democracy is only one generation from being lost. This is our watch and we must stand for what is right and true, or we lose what God has given to us.”
