* Rural Area Meal Program

or RAMP, is for individuals age 60 and over who live in El Paso County. This program is for older adults who are not able to get to the nearest congregate meal site. This includes individuals needing assistance due to physical, emotional, or social impairment. Please leave a message at 719-520-6471 with your name and phone number; we will return your call.

* Transportation - (By Appointment Only)

For seniors 60+ who live in the Fountain Valley area. Transportation provided to medical appointments, shopping, personal business, to the senior center, special outings and other destinations in El Paso County. Call 520-6472 at least 48 hours in advance to make arrangements.


* The Day Travelers March Meeting will be at 1 p.m. Tues., March 12.

* Lunch at Jack Quinn’s Pub and Grill: Saturday, March 2. Bus is $8 and will leave St. Dominic’s at Noon. Registration deadline is February 22.

* Tour of the Olympic Training Center with lunch after at Springs Orleans: Saturday, March 16. Tour fee is $13 and bus is $8. The bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 9:15 a.m. Registration deadline is March 1.

* Tour of Rosemount Museum in Pueblo with lunch after at Black Eyed Pea: Saturday, March 30. Tour fee is $6 and bus is $13. Bus leaves St. Dominic’s at 9:30 a.m. Registration deadline is March 15.

Bingo Anyone?

We have several Bingo events each month. Come down and join us! Events start at 1 p.m. Mon., Feb. 25 and Thurs., Feb. 28.

Computer Class Meets on Tuesdays

Our computer class will begin meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesdays. Come down and ask questions about your computer, Smartphone and Ipad.

Game Day Potluck

Game Day at the senior center: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. This event is a potluck. Admission is $3 with a dish. Stop by and join in on card games or board games.

Mardi Gras

Party March 5

Our Mardi Gras celebration will be from 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, March 5. Come down and join in on the festivities! Dennis Crosser will be providing the entertainment. Transportation is available, call 520-6472 to sign up.

Income Tax Preparation Help:

The AARP tax preparers will be at the FVSC again this year to help with your returns. This service is free but donations are gratefully accepted. We will start taking appointments for February, March and April in the office beginning Jan. 22; call 520-6470 to schedule yours; the appointments fill up quickly!

New Items All the Time at Thrift Shoppe

Our Kittie Paster Thrift Shoppe is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Mon.-Fri. and is located at 5725 Southmoor Dr. next to Fountain Valley Senior Center.

Stop by and see our updated Thrift Shoppe. We have brand new & gently used items and more coming in all the time. We have a .50 cent bargain room and sell $3.00 clothes bags daily. We accept donations Monday through Friday from 10am until 2pm. *All proceeds help support the mission of the FVSC.
