Fountain Council Hears From Widefield Resident About Proposed Zoning Change at Open Space

Evergreen Development Company will go before the Fountain City Council at its meeting next Tuesday to request the site be changed from open space to regional commercial. The controversial topic of Fountain City Council changing the zoning designation from Parks and Open Space District to Regional Commercial District for a piece of property located on Syracuse St., directly west of Mesa Ridge High School, arose again at the Feb. 12 council meeting.

The council had approved the zone change request in a 6-1 vote on first reading at its Jan. 8 meeting. (Councilmember Sam Gieck said he voted no due to safety and traffic concerns.)
