Discussion Closed... Oh Not So Fast!

(I Have Yet to Understand the Thinking of This City Council)

 

I attended a Fountain City Council meeting the first part of March when Curtis Mitchell and Carl Christian presented the idea to have a monument erected of an electric lineman to celebrate the 100 year celebration of turning the lights on in Fountain by the city's electric department.  It was explained that the sculptor would donate approximately $75,000 to create the statue and a break would be given to the City of Fountain by building it for $25,000.  

I raised the only objection and watched while the council pondered how to address the idea.  They loved the idea, but were a little ner...
