Thursday, April 11, 9-10:15 a.m.

Explore nature with your 2 or 3 year old through interactive activities, a story, and a short hike.  $3 per person including siblings and adults.


Homeschool Fridays--Discover Wetlands

Friday, April 12, 2-4 p.m.

Explore the five habitats at Fountain Creek Regional Park.  Watch a short video, do a wetland metaphor activity, and go for a hike with a pond study.  Geared towards grades 3-6.  $4 per person, 15 participants minimum; participants can join with other homeschool groups.  Prepayment required.


Fountain Creek’s Famous Visitor:  Zebulon Montgomery Pike

Saturday, April 13, 10-11 a.m.

What brought Zeb Pike to the banks of Fountain Creek, and what happened during and after his rugged trek through the Pikes Peak Region?  Discover his 1806 southwestern expedition through this illustrated talk, and then discover more about the human history of Fountain Creek in the new cultural history exhibit, “Fountain Creek is a Pathway of History.”  Speaker bio:  For over thirty years, Carol Kennis Lopez has created experiential and traditional learning opportunities about the history of the American West at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site, Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum and the Osher Institute at the University of New Mexico.  She serves on the Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board.  Prepaid reservations required.  $3 per member, $4 per nonmember.


Chocolate Bunny Walk & Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 20, 9-10 a.m., 11 a.m.-Noon & 1-2 p.m.

Meet a live rabbit, learn about rabbits via a fun, interactive slide show, then hunt for eggs as you hike through the woods.  For children ages 2-10 with an adult.  $5 per member child, $6 per non-member child.   Prepaid reservations required.  Limit 60 children/session.


Great American Clean-up
