Bills That Didn't Make It to the Governor's Desk, Part 2


As promised, below are the last three bills that the legislature killed this session. We may see these come back in a different form this next session so keep your eyes open.

First was the Cigarette Tobacco & Nicotine Products Tax, HB19-1333. This bill would have referred a ballot issue to the voters at the November 2019 statewide election to increase the tax on nicotine products. If approved, consumers would have seen the tax on cigarettes increase by 8.75 cents per cigarette. The tax on tobacco products would have increased by 22% of the manufacturer's list price, and a tax on nicotin...
