In my opinion, the Steller’s Jay is the most beautiful of all the jays. Although we do not see them in the lower parts of El Paso County, you can find them if you get to the higher grounds- Black Forest, Cheyenne Canyon and areas in El Paso County above 7000 feet. Cooler temperatures may bring some down lower. I’ve never seen them in the southern areas of the county, but I have seen some below 7,000 feet on the north end of the county.
