El Paso County Sheriff's Department Security Tech Natascha Dilley received the department's Civilian Employee of the Month Award for April during a ceremony at the Criminal Justice Center.

Tech Dilley is the daughter of Andrea and Louis Torrez of Widefield. She is a 2010 graduate of Mesa Ridge High School and has worked for the sheriff's department for the past 6½ years. She started with the EPSO when she was 14 with the junior cadet program.

"We are extremely proud of her and she never stops amazing us," her mother said.

The following was submitted by EPSO Public Information Officer Natalie Sosa on behalf of Sgt. Matthew Hall who nominated Dilley for the award.

On March 23, 2019, Security Tech Dilley was assigned duties in the Central Control Room at the El Paso County Jail. At approximately 1242 hours, Tech Dilley heard static coming from a radio console. Tech Dilley noticed that Radio ID # was assigned to one of the wards.

Without hesitation, Tech Dilley immediately called for immediate deputy assistance over the radio system.  Due to Tech Dilley's attention to her duties and quick thinking, responding deputies were alerted and able to provide assistance to a deputy who was being assaulted by an inmate.

It is this kind of dedication to her team and the Office that separates Tech Dilley from the rest. She consistently keeps the safety of the facility and her team in mind whenever she assumes duties in her assigned post. She is mindful of the importance of listening to the radio and ensuring those around her are safe. It is clear that Tech Dilley's quick action played a vital part he assistance and safety.

Security Tech Dilley is highly deserving of this award and it is my distinct honor to formally nominate her for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Civilian Employee of the Month Award.
