Clean Water Coalition's Meeting Tomorrow is About Local Elections

August 14, 2019

Tomorrow night's Fountain Valley Clean Water Coalition meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Security Fire Station #1 will have a focus on local communities and an emphasis on how much local elections matter for school boards, water district boards, and City Council.

"Please attend if you are interested in learning more so you can run for an available seat or you are offering up your time to volunteer for your friends and neighbors to run for a local office," coalition founder Liz Rosenbaum said.

"The month of August is when signed petitions need to be gathered and turned in to get your name on the ballot for the Nov. 5 election day. In the Southern end of El Paso County we have three school board elections: Widefield School District 3 has two seats open, Fountain Fort Carson School District 8 has three seats open, and Hanover School District 28 has three seats open. City of Fountain has an opening for Ward 2 and also two at large seats. All of these positions depend on you living in the specific areas. Elections are non-partisan.
