Larry Miller, his son, Daniel, and another boy scout, Ryan Barnett, all from Troop #164, addressed Fountain City Council at its Aug. 27 meeting, asking questions about the local water contamination issues and costs related to construction of a new treatment facility to ensure water from Fountain's wells will be safe to drink. Barnett was actually asking questions for a scout (Johnathan Webster) who couldn't attend.

Vanessa Thomas, Fort Carson Girl Scouts Brownie and Junior Leader of Troop 4262, brought several of her girls to visit the Fountain City Council meeting on Tuesday, Aug.27, where they, along with Junior Troop 1660 of  Fort Carson, led the Pledge of Allegiance to meet badge requirements for Celebrating Community and Inside Government. By having their photo published in this paper they will meet another badge requirement.
