Hail Storms Lead to Savings and Improvements in School District 8

Work occurred in August to install the new scoreboard and track at Fountain-Fort Carson High School, both of which sustained damage in the hail storm during the summer of 2018.

Along with community members and families south of Colorado Springs, Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8 suffered hail damage to all of its buildings from two storms that hit in the summer of 2018.

The storms damaged FFC8 schools, buildings, fleet and grounds costing over tens of millions of dollars. After about a year, students, staff and community members are finally starting to see the improvements and recovery made after the storms' wake.
