As a retired faculty member at a Colorado Community College, I have first-hand knowledge of the ways in which increased tuition has made attaining a college degree more difficult for students. Funding for higher education in Colorado is among the first lines to be cut when the legislative long bill is approved. When adjusted for inflation, state funding for higher education in the United States was reduced by more than $7 billion from 2008 to 2018.
