I-25 Wrong-Way Project Complete in 3 Counties

New signs to prevent wrong-way traffic at Exit 122 on I-25 south of Fountain were unveiled by the Colorado Department of Transportation on Oct. 22. The event marked the completion of such sign placements in three nearby counties, while El Paso County is slated for completion by the end of the year. In 2019 more than 2,800 signs have been placed at 77 ramps along 1-25.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Exit 122 near Fountain to recognize the completion of the I-25 Wrong Way Prevention Project in Las Animas, Huerfano and Pueblo Counties. The project will wrap up in El Paso County by the end of the year.

Karen Rowe, CDOT Region 2 Transportation Director (RTD), welcomed guests and recognized the importance of the completion of this project improving safety and travel for all.
