Fountain-Fort Carson Footballers Make Playoffs Despite Loss

Dezmen Oliver breaks the plane of the goal for his second touchdown of the game.  He opened the third quarter with a 69-yard scoring run.  He rushed for 1,153 yards rushing and scored 12 touchdowns during the regular season.

The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans fell to the Doherty Spartans, 28-35, in the final regular season game last Friday night in Fountain.

Despite the loss, the Trojans qualified for the Class 5A state playoffs. Fountain-Fort Carson takes on the Cherokee Trail Cougars this Friday, Nov. 8, at Legacy Stadium, 26101 E Arapahoe Rd., Aurora. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Trojans won the opening toss and elected to defer. Doherty went quickly down the field and scored on a one-yard run. The extra point was good and Doherty led 7-0 with 10:18 left in the first quarter.
