Turkey Day Traditions

November 13, 2019

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we want to feature some of our readers’ most treasured traditions and relished recipes. What’s a side dish your family can’t live without? Is there an activity you do that makes the holiday really memorable?

We will select and feature a variety of reader submissions in our Nov. 20 and 27 issues. Please feel free to share recipes, craft ideas, and any special traditions. Be sure to include the history of the recipe or tradition, if known, and describe any personal touches you’ve added to make it special. If you have a photo of the dish or your celebration from years past, go ahead and send that, too!

For me, a dish that is a Thanksgiving must is my mom’s cranberry salad. I actually hated it when I was a child, but now I love it and my kids do, too. Then there’s the Hot Turkey Salad for all the leftover turkey (secret ingredient: potato chips). Maybe I’ll share those recipes. Stay tuned!

Perhaps you don’t have any of these ideas, but you have something extra special to be thankful for this year and you want to share it with the world. We’d love to hear it!

Send your Thanksgiving submissions to:

[email protected], or send us a message on our Facebook page, “Fountain Valley News.” Be sure to include your name and city/town.
