November 20, 2019

In reviewing results from the Colorado election November 5, 2019, I found seven communities offered their local voters an opportunity to fix their streets by passing a sales tax increase to finance their efforts. Here's the results reported in rounded percentages.

Communities that approved a sales tax increase were: Douglas County – yes: 52%, no: 48%; Longmont -- yes 64%, 36% no; Alamosa -- 57%-43%; Grand Junction 55%--45%; Colorado Springs, 65%--35%; Denver, 74%--26%.

Communities that voted against fixing their streets by increasing their sales tax were: Fountain – yes 42%, 58% no!
