Luisjoe Ybarra Jr.'s Olympic Boxing Dream Comes to End

Widefield resident Luisjoe Ybarra Jr's bid and his lifelong dream to make the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team cane to an end at the last of four 202 USA Boxing Olympic Trails Qualifying Series events, entitled Last Chance Qualifier, held recently in Oxnard, CA.

Ybarra Jr. competed in the 138lbs Elite Division. He fought well but came up short in his bid to obtain an invite to the Olympic Box-Off, the next step to making the 2020 Olympic Team. He had to make it to finals of the tournament to qualify for the Box-Off.
